run fatty run

Week 5/52
I went back and looked at my goals since this is the last Sunday of January.
By this time I feel many people have already started to forget their goals so I went back over mine to keep me in check.
So far I have acquired a big kid job, I work at snowbowl.
I have been trying to keep healthy... I actually just got back from the gym although EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM seems to want the residents of this apartment fat because I think 10 tons of cake has passed through here this week and we still have some on the counter.
I have also sent Hayley and Seth their birthday cards and have started to prepare for February birthdays.
As for the old friends thing I feel there is a flaw in that system in which shall not be discussed here, I'm learning some things have to be let go.

BUT I did floss just a bit ago and my teeth feel amazing. AND I have been keeping up with this Sunday thing! I feel this far is a pretty good track record for goal keeping.

It's the last Sunday, only 11 more months to go.
I'm 20 and 6 days, only 360 days till 21... woo
yeah... i didn't take this picture
But the thing that makes me happy is working out. I love rock climbing, swimming, running, step classes, Jazzercise, just gym in general. buuuut most of those things aren't flattering to get pictures of and the longer you try the more awful you look so I gave up.
Going to the gym is hard but once I'm there it's so easy to just keep finding new workouts and it's hard to leave.I love the endorphin feeling after and it makes the whole day worth it.
I actually have other things I keep meaning to post but I want to get a good picture up for it and it just hasn't happened yet so bear with my shallowness.

sometimes it's hard...

"that's what she said"
Sorry I couldn't help it.
Anywho, sometimes it's hard to find things that make me happy when it comes down to writing this thing.
I think this weeks thing is mail. I love getting mail. It doesn't have to even be a package. A letter, card, heck a postcard makes me happy. Going to the mailbox, checking it and finding a magazine or letter in there is truly an awesome feeling.
Not entirely sure why but I just like it. Maybe it's when you get mail from someone you know they truly put thought into it. Anyone can just shoot a text and hell people barely do that these days so getting a letter means they intended it for you and put forth effort to make sure it gets to you. It means something.
Tomorrow is my birthday, woo. As far as birthdays go I have definitely not been feeling like I matter on this one but I know come tomorrow I will get a bunch of empty "hppy bday, happy birthday," messages sent to me or posted on my facebook wall.
They.Piss.Me.Off.
Honestly? Write more than the shortest possible thing for petes sake! Nothing says facebook reminded you and has no background emotion whatsoever than one of the above messages, even "hope your birthday is grand!" is better than that.
Sorry, I am bitter but this has definitely been a long week/weekend.

I have a huge fear of balloons actually...

I love mail and sending mail :)

To end this on a not angry note... Tomorrow I shall wake up and be 20. 366 days stand before me and 21. I don't really look forward to 21 as much as I used to. I am however looking forward to waking up and opening my birthday card from my friend Hayley that has been taunting me for about a week. Hooray for mail... Also tomorrow is the anniversary of the Frisbee and the day the Vietnam war was declared over if you don't feel like celebrating my birthday, it's okay neither do I.
If you want snail mail from me or wanna send me snail mail feel free to exchange addresses.

choose happiness!

For this week I am picking trying new things as something that makes me happy... and holy buckets am i trying new things.
In the last week I have:
*moved into a new apartment! (like legit apartment)
*gained three new lovely roommates and spent time with them!
*had a job interview off campus AND gotten it!
*Agreed to try yoga with a camp friend
*taken the initiative to apply for a few things... more about that if I actually get it
*been excited about the future
*made an effort to contact and socialize more with distant friends
*got a pinterest account! (not that I need more time wasting)
*started recruiting for our softball team! ( I need to learn how to play softball)

I'm trying new workouts in the upcoming weeks, hopefully more attempting at snowboarding.
I'm also... going...to... learn what is so great about crock-pots and cook something in one ( my roommates think they are the greatest thing on Earth as we have three haha)

still a work in progress

my lovely new room and Jean Claude
I want to get more out and about and find new people, things and food.
Life is easy to live if you're doing the same thing everyday and I want change that.

As long and exhausting as this semester will be I'm excited for it to start. Last semester was kinda a drag so I'm looking forward to new beginnings and starting my senior year (!) here at NAU. :)

Ate in three states, one day

I know, my titles are creative as can be.
Yesterday I ate breakfast in Kentucky, lunch in Tampa Bay Florida and dinner in Arizona. I had a 26 hour day and ended my travels for a bit.
This leads to my second "what makes me happy" entry as it as Sunday (thank you post secret).

flying over Tampa Bay

I love being in the clouds
I guess this weeks is that traveling makes me happy. I think I could win the award for biggest tourist hands down. I take pictures of everything I can when I'm somewhere new and sometimes when I'm just at home.

family dinner in Indiana
In the photo above we were at a pizza place that delivered your drinks to you via toy train in that window behind us. I of course was enthralled and asked the waitress to take our picture. I love packing my necessities up and going somewhere with a goal. I always have the urge to travel, to be somewhere new, even just having a layover in Florida was exciting for me and made me want to see everything even more.
School is to resume soon for us NAU kids so travel will be limited but I still have my plans. I'm due for a trip to California as I love to see the beach. I don't care if it's 20 degrees out and the fish don't even want to be in the ocean, I do.
This new semester begins a whole new arena of new things to tackle, the next time I blog I shall have moved into my new apartment and met my new roommates.
Change is coming my way.

I know it's not Sunday...

but I said I would post my goals and such. I'm not making resolutions this year, just goals. Resolutions are meaning to change things while goals are intented to achieve things. Let's see if I can achieve and maybe change along the way. I often feel like everyone is changing around me but never me. It makes it hard to stay cause I'm still a jukebox while everyone else is the newest Ipod. Not many people want to carry around a jukebox... haha. Anyway goals!

2012 Goals
366 days
52 weeks

1.      Take one picture of something that makes/made you happy a week
2.    Strive for A’s and B’s- study!
3.    Send all my family members a card for their birthday
4.    Make new friends and make an effort to keep the old ones
5.    Become healthier in diet, exercise, mind and everything
6.    Make time for new things and keep an open mind
7.    Become a letter listener
8.    Get a big kid job
9.    Get out more, adventure, travel, and experience life.
10.  Try and stay hopeful.
11. Floss more.

Cousins- 2010. Yes we could win awkward family photo contests...
Those are my goals. I'm going to have to print out a few hundred copies and tape them everywhere to remind me. I fly back to the lovely Arizona this Saturday.
I went to this work out class that kicked ass every tuesday last semester. Oddly enough I was the only person that continually went throughout the semester. One day the teacher (a grad student) haad the big diamond earrings in... I told him he kinda looked like a tool. Workout sucked that day. Also at the end of the semester he told me to eat raw oatmeal mixed with yogurt (ew). I told him I can't eat raw oatmeal or the dinosaurs wouldn't hatch. Yeah, the kids oatmeal is the only reason to eat oatmeal for me.
see? looks healthy enough. Well I shall return Sunday.

2012

Happy New Year!
Again!
It's weird to me how someone decided to mark time and then celebrate a certain marking every 365 days as if everything is new again.
I am attempting this blog-ing thing. In my mind blogging has been just a public diary where the author eventually gets busy and forgets till it's no longer updated.
Well... I am not a great writer by any means and I do get busy but this is on my goals for 2012 so here it is!
This shall be my record keeping for my other goal which is being called "the 52 weeks of happy".
Each Sunday I shall post something that makes or made me happy and possibly a picture of it.
Today, being a Sunday and the start of a new year is a great time to start. Also, post secret comes up every Sunday so I will make time to read that and post here in my blog.
Also, my good friend Seth is going to endure this task with me as he shall be posting every Sunday...somewhere.
So here we go.
Week 1/52
Holidays make me happy. I love having a reason to celebrate and people to celebrate with. This winter break I got to travel and spend Christmas and New years with my family back east. I missed my cousins dearly and I was told by my youngest one at 12:01 January first that I had to come back this year. It  saddens me I miss a large part of everyones lives being out in Arizona but the enviroment here has said no to me moving here by making me sick more days than not. I am soon to fly back where we will celebrate reunions of friends amoung other things.

i made a new friend :)

and here's the cousins at midnight
I'll post my goals for the year shortly. Here's to new things, new beginnings, and other new things...
